Assignment 1

 After watching these videos I was amazed at the statics that it presented. These
facts shocked me and made me really wonder and think about what the world is
coming to and how fast the world is changing. This opens my eye up to the many
thoughts as to what schools will have or lack with the use of technology and how
the teachers will have to adjust their teaching to in cooperate technology. Also
after watching these clips it amazed me how behind the U.S is and how much the
world is changing into a more technological world. The main shock was that we
are already teaching students for technology careers that don't even exists yet.


Assignment 3

 Discovery Exercise

Beautiful Flower

This flower caught my eye because of the bright colors. i also loved how the rain drops are shown on the flower. i loved the color contrasts that it displays. I also love how they are creative with the colors. They use a variety of colors rather than just yellows or pinks. This is just a pretty picture.


 Activity 5


I think technology is going to change teaching by more teachers doing everything online with their students. Like we have Black board teachers could eventually have this in their classrooms as well. I feel that all lesson plans will be done on the computer and students will have to go online for their homework every night. This is also a way for parents to keep track of their child’s school work. I feel that technology will advance faster then we will be able to keep up with and understand. Once we do understand something it will end up changing again. Like the video said we are teaching students for jobs that don’t even exist yet. Technology is a big deal pertaining to the future and I feel that it’s going to change forever and will be all that is in the classroom. I mean let’s look at homeschooling. There is a lot of technology with that. You have webs cams and virtual teachings and meetings with other students and so on. Technology is going to take over the world by the time it’s all said and done.   

Discovery Exercise

 The flickr tool that I found most interesting to me was the tool called Flickr Flash Puzzle Zone.This tool to me seemed like a good way to get my students involved and be interactive with what is going on in the classroom and this would be a great center tool for the students to do and learn at the same time.  Another idea is that they could pic a picture that they want to add and i could add it for them and then have it as a classroom activity.  


Assignment 4

When I first started trying to figure out the newsreaders I was getting very frustrated. I didn’t know what to do and I was getting frustrated because I didn’t know what to look up, even though the possibilities are endless. I was trying to think more on the educational side of things. After I figured out that my computer had to do with some of the problem and fixed it I was able to do my job a little better. As a special education teacher, I used newsreader to look up think like disabilities, how to accommodate and decorate my classroom and other things on the same idea.               

            I could use this technology in my classroom to help me come up with ideas on many things. I could also use this as a group activity and have the students take turns on the blackboard and have them search some ideas or topics that they have an interest in and then have them reflect on what they read and if the information was helpful or not.

            I used the newsreaders in my personal life by looking up additional information that I think could be helpful for me in everyday living and also in my classroom like I stated before. Technology is a world of endless possibilities. If it wasn’t for this class I would have never know that half of these resources existed.

activity 7

I really like the tool called Topix. I found this tool very helpful and interesting in the way that you can type anything in and find it whether it relates to your town or just a topic in general. I think this tool could be very helpful and beneficial for students to use if they are doing a research project. It has a lot of helpful information and it also deals with what is going on in the community. I feel that this tool would be great to use in social studies because it has a lot of info on the current politics and government issues.

Assignment 5

Some of the productivity tools that i found most use full and beneficial were the spreadsheet, the presentation and the drawing. i feel that anyone could use the drawing tool. whether its the teacher or the student in creating something for class. for example the teacher could do a lesson on something and then review it in a picture and the students would have to do the same. the presentation tool could also be used the same way. this could be very beneficial for the teacher in another way of creating a power point but with more color. a teacher could also use this to do a business presentation for a meeting as well. showing how they could use this in their classrooms. a spreadsheet tool is most useful to a teacher in a way that they can enter their grades and assignments in there and not have to worry about the paper product of keeping track of grades. i know when i was in high school we had this program that our parents could go on to and look up our grades from each class along with our assignments that are due. This will help the parent keep involved with their child learning and also may help the child in a way to keep them organized and on top of their work. Technology is just an outstanding piece of work that just keeps getting better.

 Discovery Exercise:

Game Classroom I really found this web 2.0 site being not only helpful but also interesting and fun. i explored it a little and i felt that it was a great place for teacher to go to find different ways to help their children learn about different subjects. there were things for each subject and by grade level, which i thought was very helpful.  Also this web site was very colorful and kept me interested. there are so many different things to explore on here i was overwhelmed with excitement. this made me what to start teaching now! 

Story Jumper  I also found this web 2.0 site  very interesting and helpful. this would be a great place for elementary teachers to go to. The students can come here and create their own stories and be as creative as they want to be.  I feel that this would also be a good source for a teacher to use to have their children retell the story they just heard. This could be one way of an assessment. Another idea is that the teacher could ask the students a question or read a book and then have them relate to it and create their own story. 

Assignment 6

The one thing that I really don't like about youtube is that there is so many videos pertaining to one subject. Even if you type in exactly what you want to search and you don't always get that either. The thing I do like about youtube is that there are so many things to explore and find on youtube. The movie that I found was one dealing with Autism. I chose this because this is the topic that i am talking about in my education class and this is the video that really caught my eye. This story made me feel that you should never give up on a child no matter what. this really touched my heart and i hope those viewing walk away with some thought as well, not only as a teacher but just a person in the world. People with disabilities get looked down on and made fun of more then people realize and it just breaks my heart.

Discovery Exercise

The podcast i did find pretty useful was on podomatic. I liked how you could search for different categories and things pertaining to different cities on different topics. I was not sure what pod-casting was or what it was for until i researched it more. I came to the conclusion that it's really neat and helpful. there are so many things that you can look up and listen to. some of my favorite was the comedy station and the music station. I like being able to listen to different types of music from all over the world and see what other people are interested in. this would also be a great thing to have in the classroom like government, dealing with politics. The students could listen to debates and then reflect on them and state their side of what they think about the issue.

Discovery Exercise- ebooks
 The future for eBooks is near. There are many eBooks and e textbooks now that are available for students to use in schools depending of if the teacher allows that. Also with ipads and tablets becoming more popular students could have the eBook downloaded to their tablet and have it in class with them. Some things that worry me about ebooks is that you need to have internet to download them and money to buy them and sometimes they can get expensive, especially text books. Another thing that concerns me is i feel that if studetns did have these in the class room keeping them on task would be difficult. Also money, not every child would be able to have the money to buy one and buy the books as well.
I would have maybe one or two ipads in the classroom  and use them for when I read to them and have them take turns interacting with the ipad. I think that the ipad would be a great thing to have in the classroom but at the same time it has its problems. Using eBooks once in a while for younger grades would be great. But i feel that at the higher level it would be a problem.

Assignment 7
The wiki's that I saw in the classroom I thought was really interesting and how they in cooperated the use of the web and world linked into their site in order to do their project. I liked how they were reaching out to the world for their classroom project and getting the world to know them. I also found it interesting in how you could have a wiki about any subject. so students could look at other to get ideas for their own. I also feel that this would be a great project for students to do in the upper grade levels.

Assignment 8
I really like how delicious is made more for the individual person and how it is centered around what that person wants to have rather then here's the layout this is what you have to use. I also like how you can be as creative as you want and tag as many things on one picture as you want. also you can tell everyone about it rather then just certain people. Also there are many different sites that you can use not just this one so it makes it more available. This is also a great way to organize or categorize by topics/subjects.  Another thing is you can share your tags so other can view what you have viewed and like it as well maybe. you can search for anything and not only on this site but from other sites as well.


Discovery Exercise 
I didn't realize how many blogs were really out there and how many search results you would get from just typing in one word. I look up health and living and i found it really cool that they had a list of the reporters on their site and you could click on them and read a little about them and then view their blogs and so on. i thought this was really cool and helpful. i also like how there are posts about current events going on all over the world. so i feel this would be a great way to keep up on current events and also to show to students so they know that the resources are there and available to them. I don't know if i would personally use tagging but I do think it is a great source to have and use if you are interested in that. My favorite is fliker only because its mainly for pictures and you can tag where you were and i love pictures and i love showing them to the world and also viewing others so i can dream!

Assignment 9

After exploring twitter i guess I found it some what interesting. I am not so sure i really like twitter only for the fact that people are constantly blogging and I just am no that type of person. Also I like blogger better because you can post videos and links and different things like that and people can see them. i feel that this has more of a better environment then twitter. also you can choose who you want to follow and i think that is a good idea. I do however like the way that you can follow and comment on certain topics like education and so on. I am still confused with twitter and I do not  know if I would continue to use it in my everyday life. To me this is a new learning experience and I am sure that I like blogger a lot better then twitter and even facebook. But this is just my opinion. If you want to follow me my name is   nishaf2014

Assignment 10

I looked around at many different sights and i was very excited with the different things that you could created. I started out with one of the web 2.0 websites that you have provided us with but i didnt not like how things were tturning out. So i went and searched on my own and found this website http://www.textspace.net/dynamic_blinkie_text_maker/14.1/page_1 this was a cool web site and very easy to use. I have used applications like this before when I was younger to create my "my space" account. I thought it was the coolest thing and i still do somewhat. I think this would be a great thing to use on your classroom blog. 

Activity 20 
 I thought this website was pretty neat and use full. I think I would use this site again. I really like how they show you other people who have or are reading books that are in the same genera as you so you can find more books like the ones you like to read. I also like how it keeps things organized for you. Ones you have read, are reading, and want to read. I am not a big reader right now because I do not have time to read but when I do get time I would like to read these different books that have been suggested, especially because they interest me. Almost Done
Some of my favorite learning experiences were learning how to use movie maker and producing a video. I used this in another class all thanks to you. I also like Glogster and how we could make an interactive post board. I thought this was a great site to use and I think I will continues to use it in the future. I also like our blogs. At first I didnt think I would like it, but after getting use to using it and how to use it I found it very interesting and also helpful. I would like to have a school blog like this for the parents of my students to keep them informed. I like the school news letters but i think i would also like to post the homework assignments on there and other important information as well so it can be accessed at any time. I also like the web 2.0 sites that you provided us with. I will defiantly use these in my future years of teaching, these sites will make my job a lot easier and give more great ideas. 
This program has opened my eyes more to see how there is so many things that you can do with technology and how it can be incooperated into the classroom. I knew some options were out there but after this class it gave me a better understanding of how to use technology in my classroom. This program also exposed me to many new sites that I never knew there was out there especially for Education. I also like all the different projects that we did. They gave me some new ideas for my classroom.
I really apperciate this class and all that you have taught us this semister. I also really really like and apperciate all the class time you gave us to work on your projects. If I didn't have this class time I have no idea how I or anyone would have completed things on time. Don't change that! I think every student apperciated that.
